Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid Campeador, Mío Cid or El Cid, is a historical character born in Vivar, Burgos, in 1043 and died in Valencia in 1099. But he is also a legend: his deeds appear in Castilian literature, like the Cantar de Mio Cid.
